True, unaltered traditions are undoubtedly among the highest values of any culture. Inspired by our great role models, Archduke Johann and Viktor von Geramb, we aim not only to preserve traditions—especially Styrian traditions—but to actively live them. A significant milestone was set in 1977, when, on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of Bruck an der Mur's elevation to city status, a summit cross was erected on our namesake mountain, the 1664-meter-high "Roßeck." Our association the ‘Rossecker’ is not only well-known within the province, many shows at diverse events, national and international, have made our cultural society renowned beyond the borders of Styria. Above all, the success of our dance group has led to numerous invitations abroad. We were often the sole Austrian representatives at various C.I.O.F.F. festivals.
